Exmoor Challenge

Exmoor Challenge

Thorverton

Last Saturday Sam, Erin, Will, William and Milo walked 16 miles across Exmoor, as they took part in the Exmoor challenge, navigating their way and checking in at each checkpoint. There were over 100 teams taking part. They completed the walk in just under seven hours, which is one of the fastest times we have had. Well done all of you! I was very proud of their team effort, enthusiasm and support that they gave each other. It is always a bit nerve racking for me as they disappear off and always a real relief when they finally finish. Their feet ached a bit at the end and I am sure they slept well that night, but they still all had a smile on their faces!! What an excellent effort.

Last weekend saw our intrepid four Year 6 girls; Charley, Jemima, Jess and Annabelle successfully navigate their way for 16 miles across Exmoor. Luckily the weather was kind to them and although a windy day it remained dry. They performed brilliantly; and when Mrs Parkes and I managed to meet up with them at various checkpoints throughout the day they all had a smile on their faces and were extremely supportive of each other. Congratulations girls. We are all extremely proud of you, an outstanding effort!

A huge well done to Danny, Harry and Ben Baxter who along with Sam fromThorverton, completed the Exmoor Challenge on Saturday. It is a grueling 16 mile course, navigating compasses and maps and they worked tremendously well as a team. I am reliably informed that they finished 20th out of 150 teams which is a tremendous achievement.
