Kingfisher Presentation - Oak Class

On the 16th July, Oak Class, along with children from seven other schools headed off to the Kingfisher Presentation.
It was here that all the schools got to display the work they had been doing since the field trip back in May, based on the themeof "Why does soil need poo and worms?"
We have really enjoyed this project and used many of the ideas the children came up with including: making model poo;digging in our own gardens; making and caring
for a wormery, writing "poo haikus" and plenty more besides. We made and decorated a plywood representation of an underground soil; made a giant papier mache pile of dung and filled it with facts; learnt about burrowing creatures and wrote entertaining stoties based upon the imagined lives of dung beetles and worms.

All the displays were of a high quality but we were very pleased to be awarded second place and recieve cerificates, a beautiful nature book
and £50 for the school. A great afternoon and good to see very nearly the whole class present, proud of their contributions and keen to talk to the judges.

Well done Oak Class!
