Welcome to Dart Class! We are Year 6.
Mrs Powell is the class teacher of Dart Class, assisted by Miss Wood, Miss Archibald and Ms Bloch.
In Dart Class we encourage the children to take responsibility for their learning and to become independent learners in preparation for their transition to secondary school at the end of Y6.
We are the oldest children in the school and because of this we have lots of extra responsibilities such as playground leaders and librarians.
We have a really positive attitude to our learning and are keen to challenge ourselves and encourage each other to do the best that we can. We love to share our learning with each other.
We start 2023 with a geography driver topic. We will be studying Geography for the first half of the Spring Term. We will be looking closely at Scandinavia. As well as locating Scandinavia on maps we will be studying the physical features unique to this group of countries. We will look at the weather experienced here and the impact this has on the people who live there. We will compare Scandinavia to our local area, looking for differences and similarities. We will also experience hygge. After half term we will be learning about Queen Elizabeth I. An overview of our learning can be found below.
