Welcome to Exe Class! We are a mixed age class of Year 4 and Year 5 children, taught by Mrs Wood and Mrs Lewis, supported by a team of Teaching Assistants over the week.
In Exe Class, we work hard to become increasingly independent learners. We think carefully about our own individual learning journey and develop a range of learning behaviours to help us.
Our home learning priority is reading (being listened to by an adult or by an adult discussing their child’s reading book with them). Our aim is for all children to find their great love of reading and be able to share that with others. Another big focus for us is the learning of all multiplication tables. We have checks each week in class and children have logins for TTRockstars for home use. We also recommend Mathsframe for extra practice.
We start 2023 with a geography driver. We will be learning about Europe and identifying some of the countries in Eastern Europe. We will then look in more detail at some of the contrasting areas of eastern Europe, finding out about the landscape, climate and locations in each area.
After half term we will switch to a history topic, and will find out more about the Norman Conquest. An overview of Spring Term learning can be found below.
