If you want to explain any of your answers above or if there is anything else you want the Federation Leadership Team to be aware of about the school, please give details here.
1. What has gone well for your child this year and how have you seen them flourish at school?
2. We have worked hard to improve communication with families over the last 12 months through newsletters and the school websites. Do you receive information in good time and have you felt welcomed to attend school events? Is there anything else we can do to keep improving communication in the coming year, and have you got any suggestions for ways to do this?
3. We know that educational visits, outdoor learning, sport and music are highly valued by parents. Has your child taken part in these activities this year and how have they benefitted from them? How do you think we can enhance the wider curriculum offer made by our schools in the coming year?
4. Last year, you asked us to give you more feedback on your child's progress during the school year. This spring, we sent out mid-year reports to give parents more information about how their children are progressing, alongside parent meetings with teachers. Was this feedback helpful to you to support your child at home?
5. This year, we have reintroduced residential visits with Year 3 and 4 going to the YHA in Okehampton, Year 5 going to Bristol and Bath and Year 6 going to Heatree. If your child took part in a residential visit this year , what did they gain from the experience and is there anything you would like us to consider for next year?
6. We have done a lot of work on developing the curriculum this year so that children 'learn more and remember more'. Have you looked at the curriculum information on the school websites and have you noticed that that your child is able to talk more about what they have learned and make links to past learning?
7. Finally, how do you think the Exe Valley Federation can develop in the coming year? How can we improve our provision in 2023/4 and how would you like to see it evolve in the future?
If your child has joined their school this year [either in Reception or later], please could you answer question 8 as well? Thank you.
8. If your child joined their school this year, either in Reception or further up the school, then could you answer the following short questions to help us understand more about why you chose this school?
How did you hear about us?
What were the key reasons that made you choose our school?
Did you attend an open day? Did this help you decide?
Did any of the following inform your decision: - Ofsted/results/ Location/Facilities and/or building/Curriculum/Vision and ethos/Extra-curricular services (e.g. clubs/wrap around care)
How has your child settled into their school and are they enjoying their new setting?
